Multi-stemmed shrub, 0.1-0.8(-1.5) m high. Fl. pink-purple, Sep to Dec. Gravelly soils, laterite, granite.
Scientific Description
Shrub. Stems hairy. Leaves 12-30 mm long, NaN (?) mm wide, tripartitely lobed, simply (once-)lobed; margins entire; indumentum present, with stellate hairs; stipules present but early deciduous (only visible on youngest leaves). Perianth of two whorls but the corolla reduced to small scales or tiny lobes at the base of the ovary. Pedicel present, 6.5-7.5 mm long; indumentum present, with stellate hairs. Epicalyx (extra segments or 'bracteoles' immediately below the calyx) present, 6-7.3 mm long, the lobes free, indumentum present, stellate hairs present. Calyx pink or purple, 6-9 mm long, the lobes fused less than half their length, stellate hairs present, number of ribs present, one. Corolla glabrous. Stamens five, free and inserted at the base of the ovary; filaments present, 0.8-1 mm long; anthers 4.8-5 mm long. Staminodes present. Ovary hairs or scales present, stellate hairs present; style 1, with a lobed or capitate stigma, 4-4.5 mm long, with one style branches or lobes, hairy for most of length. Flowering time September, October, November or December. Distribution Botanical Province South-West, IBRA Bioregion Geraldton Sandplains, Swan Coastal Plain, Avon Wheatbelt or Jarrah Forest.
