Tree or shrub, 1-12(-18) m high, tessellated to fissured bark. Fl. red, Apr to Oct. Red alluvial sand, red-brown sandy loam, sandstone scree over basalt. Creek beds and levees, edge of monsoonal forests, flood plains.
