Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, spiny at least in part, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 10-35 mm long, 3-12 mm wide, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 2 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 3 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 8 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow, red or purple, with some yellow, red or purple spots, streaks or blotches; claws absent; standard 7 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 7 mm long, not auriculate, keel 7 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens; anthers 0.5 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short), 6 mm long. Ovary; style 7 mm long, terete. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie IBRA regions.
