Upright spreading shrub, 0.2-0.7 m high, 0.3-1 m wide. Fl. yellow/yellow-orange-red, Jul to Dec. Sand, loam, limestone. Flat plains.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, continuous with stem, 3-5.5 mm long, 1-3.2 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins or flat with recurved margins; margins entire; tuberculate; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 2-3 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 1.5-2.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 8.5-9 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 10-11 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow, mostly yellow, red or orange, with some yellow, red or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 9-9.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 8-8.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 8-8.2 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.8-1 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 7.5-8.2 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 8.6-9 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Hampton, Mallee and Esperance IBRA regions.
