Perennial or annual, herb or climber, to 3 m high. Fl. white-cream-yellow-purple, Feb to May. Clay, sandstone, basalt. Floodplains, grasslands, drainage depressions, tidal flats.

Scientific Description

Twining or climbing plants. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 90-140 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 8-10.5 mm long, without glands, ribless. Bracteoles present but early deciduous, 2-3 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 3-4 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7-10 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present. Stamens ten. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 60 mm long, 7 mm wide, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in March, April and May. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley and Dampierland IBRA regions.
