Ascending, much-branched, stiff perennial, herb, 0.2-0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Apr to Oct. Red sandy, sometime stony soils. Sandplains, rocky hills.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves compressed or flat, 35-80 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, Indumentum present, simple hairs; margins entire. Bracteoles absent, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 10-20 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2-2.5 mm long, hairy, with sparse, glandular hairs. Corolla yellow, 13-20 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glandular hairs, hairy on the inside; central lobes 3-6.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 7-10 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 0.6-1 mm wide on the narrower side, 0.7-1.3 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, gibbous; style 6-9 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Pilbara (PIL), Murchison (MUR), Great Victoria Desert (GVD), Coolgardie (COO), Central Ranges (CR), Gascoyne (GAS), Gibson Desert (GD), Great Sandy Desert (GSD), Little Sandy Desert(LSD) and Dampier land (DL) IBRA Region(s), of the Northern (N) and Eremaean (E) Botanical Province.
