Rosetted perennial, herb, 0.18-0.9 m high, Leaves tufted, linear, 6-30 cm long, 1-4 mm wide, apex mucronate, margin involute, scabrous. Membraneous scale leaves present at base of mature leaves. Scape with glandular and pilose hairs. Inflorescence racemose. Fl. pink-purple, Sep to Dec. Clayey sand or clay loam, quartzite or laterite. Rocky outcrops, hillslopes and summits. Mallee shrubland and heath.
