Culm 220-720 mm long. Sheaths (including blade) appressed throughout, dull, not striate, glabrous, margins not translucent. Apex finely pointed or elongated, glabrous. Dioecious (with separate male and female plants). Male and female inflorescences similar, posture (male inflorescences only) More or less erect, Culms unbranched below the inflorescence. Male spikelet 2.7-4 mm long. Subtending bract glabrous, Outer bract 1.7-2 mm long, margins thin and translucent, Apex acute. Perianth glabrous. 2-2.5 mm long. Inner bract glabrous, margins firm and opaque, Apex acute. Inner bract 1.8-2.2 mm long. Filament 1.2-1.5 mm long. Anther 1-1.4 mm long. Female spikelet 2.3-2.7 mm long. Subtending bract glabrous, margins firm and opaque, Apex acute. Outer bract 1.5-2 mm long. Perianth glabrous. 2-2.5 mm long. Inner bracts 2-2.4 mm long, glabrous, margins firm and opaque, Apex acute. Style three (or three-branched). 2-3 mm long. Fruit trilocular (capsule). Flowering Time September, October or November.
