Erect perennial, herb or shrub, to 1.5 m high. Fl. orange/yellow-orange, Feb to Apr. Red loam over basalt. River plain.

Scientific Description

Erect, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 55-90 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 3.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 6 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 12 mm long, multicoloured, orange, mostly yellow or orange, with some yellow or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 11 mm long, hairy at least in part, not auriculate, wings 9-10 mm long, not auriculate, keel 8.5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in February, March and April. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley IBRA regions.
