Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 55-105 mm long, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 8-10 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 18-20 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 26-45 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow or green, with some yellow or green spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 25-34 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 13-17 mm long, keel 25-38 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 2-5 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 10-26 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 21-50 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in February, May and October. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Avon Wheatbelt and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
