Tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.2-0.7 m high, leaf blade short, rigid, spikelet cuneate, 4-6-flowered. Fl. mainly Sep to Dec or Jan. Lateritic, yellow or red sand. Sandplains, hillslopes.
