Small, spreading tree, 3-16 m high, bark blackish and rough on main trunks. Fl. yellow, Oct to Dec. Black peaty soil, brown sandy clay, laterite. Riverbanks, ridges, swamp flats, hillslopes, roadsides, gardens.
