Erect to ascending annual, herb, to 0.45 m high, leaves 2-8(-13) mm wide; spikes 16-35 m wide, pedunculate; tepals 7-12 mm long. Fl. white/pink, Feb to Oct. Sandy, clayey or stony red soils. Shrubland, near watercourses and depressions.
