Erect to spreading annual, herb, to 0.3 m high, spikes in clusters of 1-3; staminal filament tube shorter than the fruit; pseudostaminodes present. Fl. white/pink, Jan to Aug. Red sand, red-brown loamy soils or skeletal soils. Grasslands, woodlands, rocky outcrops.
