Erect annual, herb, to 0.4 m high. Fl. yellow, Mar to Jun or Aug. Cracking clay over basalt, red clay loam. Flats, crabholes, plains.

Scientific Description

Erect, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, continuous with stem, 30-50 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 3.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 5-6.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 15-16.5 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 14-16 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 13-15 mm long, not auriculate, keel 14-17.5 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.7-2.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 9-11 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 14-15 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 16-20 mm long, 6-8 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, hairy, with simple hairs, not beaked. Flowers in March, April, May, June and August. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Pilbara IBRA regions.
