Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, continuous with stem, 60-70 mm long, 18-60 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 15 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 20 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 55 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow or green, with some yellow or green spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 42-45 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 30-36 mm long, not auriculate, keel 50-54 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 1.7-6 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 20-24 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 50 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 50 mm long, 13 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, hairy, with simple hairs, not beaked. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte and Dampierland IBRA regions.
