Erect perennial, herb (or sub-shrub), to 1 m high. Fl. yellow, Jan to Dec. Red sandy soils or clay loam. Sandy plains, rocky creek beds.

Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like) or herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 20-55 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 2.5-3 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 3.5-4 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 3-4 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 5-6.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 10-13 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 9-10 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 8-10 mm long, not auriculate, keel 11-11.5 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath. Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 11-12.5 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley and Dampierland IBRA regions.
