Prostrate perennial, herb, to 0.1 m high, to 0.2 wide. Fl. pink, Nov to Dec. Sandy or sandy clay soils. Clay flats, seasonally moist areas.

Scientific Description

Perennial herbs, stems several, more or less prostrate, glabrescent. Leaves present, (10-)30-110(-130) mm long, (1-)2-5(-6) mm wide, glabrescent; basal rosette present; cauline leaves alternate. Spikes pink, ovoid or hemispherical, solitary, with densely arranged flowers. Bracts 6.5-9.2 mm long, coloured, hairy, awned or mucronate, with a prominent midrib. Bracteoles 6.5-9.5 mm long, coloured or colourless, hairy, awned or mucronate, with a prominent midrib. Outer tepals (8-)9-15(-18) mm long, not entire. Inner tepals (7.5-)8.5-14.5(-17.5) mm long, with a basal tuft of hairs on inner face. Style (2-)2.5-2.8(-3.5) mm long, curved or straight, obliquely fixed to ovary. Seeds dull, brown. Distribution: South West Botanical Region; IBRA regions: Avon Whealtbelt, Jarrah Forest.
