Tuberous, perennial, herb, to 0.75 m high. Fl. blue-purple, Oct to Nov. Peaty sand, grey sandy clay, brown-red loam, silty loam, gravel, granite. Winter-wet flats, hills & lower slopes, valley floors, swamp edges.
