Obconic, rigid, erect shrub, to 4.5 m high, bark smooth grey on main stems, upper branches yellow; flower heads globular. Fl. yellow, Jul or Aug. Alluvial sand, coarse red-brown sand, pebbly sand, brown loamy clay, skeletal soil, sandstone. Undulating plains, along rivers and creeks, in creek beds.
