Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets verrucose (warty), +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves alternate, simple, 7-18 mm long, 0.8-1.3 mm wide, terete, verrucose (warty), glabrous; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers terminal. solitary; calyx present, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; corolla red, yellow, white or cream or green, petals five, 12-16 mm long, connate, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, 12-17 mm long, hairy; anthers 3-4 mm long, without an appendage; style 15-17 mm long, hairy. Flowers in June and August. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Avon Wheatbelt IBRA region(s). Conservation Code: Priority Two (P2).
