Tufted rhizomatous, perennial, herb (sedge), leaves 0.31-0.53 m high, culms and leaves distichous. Pale orange skeletal sandy loam with banded ironstone gravel & rock, well-drained shallow stony loamy with quartz. Gentle hill slopes, upper slopes of large hill.
