Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, opposite, not continuous with stem, 2-3.5 mm long, 0.5-0.6 mm wide, glabrous, flat with recurved margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves or present and persistent to older leaves. Stamens ten; filaments free (or united at the very base). Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 6.5-7 mm long, 3-3.5 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, glabrous, not beaked. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Yalgoo IBRA regions. Conservation Code Priority One (P1).
