Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 35-70 mm long, 3-8 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 5-6 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 2-2.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 4.5-6 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 9-13 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 8.5-12 mm long, hairy at least in part, auriculate or not auriculate, wings 7.5-8.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 9-10 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, hairy at least in part. Stamens ten; anthers 0.3-0.5 mm long; filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 9-11 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 10.6-12 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 10-12 mm long, 7-8 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, hairy, with simple hairs, not beaked. Flowers in January and December. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley IBRA regions.
