Slender, somewhat weeping shrub, (0.5-)1-3 m high. Fl. yellow/green-yellow, Jan to Oct. Laterite or gravelly soils, sandstone, quartzite. Rocky ridges & outcrops, creeks.

Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 2-12 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs; margins entire; tubercles absent, leaflets 3-5, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 8-10 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 2-2.2 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 9.5-10 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 13-16 mm long, multicoloured, yellow, mostly yellow or green, with some yellow or green spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 15-16 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 10-10.5 mm long, auriculate, keel 13.5-14 mm long, not beaked, auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.6-1 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 11-12.5 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 12.5-15 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 18-20 mm long, 6-8 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, glabrous, beaked. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October. Occurs in the Northern and Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Pilbara, Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley, Ord-Victorian-Plain and Dampierland IBRA regions.
