Erect shrub, 0.3-1 m high. Fl. yellow, Jun to Sep. Red sand or loam or clay.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 10.5-15 mm long, 2-2.4(-24) mm wide, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 5-6 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present and persistent, 1.4-2 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 4-5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 12-14 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 11.5-13 mm long, hairy at least in part, not auriculate, wings 9-10 mm long, auriculate, keel 12-13.5 mm long, not beaked, auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.6-1 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 10-12 mm long. Ovary stipitate, glabrous; style 10-14 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 20-25 mm long, 10-13 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, glabrous, beaked. Flowers in June, July, August and September. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Esperance IBRA regions.
