Scientific Description

Erect or prostrate,spreading or scrambling, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, continuous with stem, (25-)40-95 mm long, 14-40 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 3-4 mm long, without glands, ribless. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 5-7 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7 mm long, multicoloured, mostly pink or orange, with some pink or orange spots, streaks or blotches; claws present. Stamens ten. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August and September. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley and Ord-Victorian-Plain IBRA regions.
