Scientific Description

Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 25-90 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present; pustules or glands absent. Stipules without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 3-4 mm long, hairy. Calyx 6-6.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 10-11.5 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow, with some orange or purple spots, streaks or blotches; standard 9-10.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 8-9 mm long, not auriculate, keel 9-10 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 6.5-7.5 mm long. Ovary; style 8-10 mm long. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 15-17 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, hairy, with simple hairs, beaked. Flowers in June, October and November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest and Warren IBRA regions. Conservation Code Priority Two (P2).
