Stoloniferous, tussock-forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.6-2 m high, panicle spiciform racemose, lemma 3-lobed, almost glabrous. Fl. green/green-purple, Jan to Dec. Red sand, sandy loam, limestone, quartzite, sandstone. Banks of rivers & creeks, margins of salt flats, salt lakes, clay plains.
