Erect or ascending annual, herb, 0.05-0.2(-0.5) m high. Fl. white, Aug to Sep. Sandy or peaty soils. Creek & swamp edges.

Notes. Grows further inland than Dischisma arenarium, on sandy or peaty soils. Germination of seed is stimulated by smoke and is generally higher in darkness.

Additional information. Similar exotic species. Dischisma arenarium.

Suggested method of management and control. Spot spray 0.2% glyphosate. Read the manufacturers' labels and material safety data sheets before using herbicides.
