Erect to spreading, unpleasantly aromatic annual, herb, 0.2-0.6 m high, covered by simple, moderately long eglandular hairs. Fl. purple-pink, Jan to Mar. Sandy to clayey soil, river levee soils, basalt, ironstone. On open sandy plains, creek banks, at base of hills by rock holes.
