Lignotuberous tree or shrub, 0.4-10 m high, with epicormic buds. Fl. yellow, Oct to Dec or Jan to Feb. White, yellow, brown or pale red sand, sometimes over laterite. Sand dunes, sandplains.

Scientific Description

Trees or Shrubs, 2-4(-10) m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 90-175 mm long, 7-15 mm wide, hairy; petiole 20-30 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 12-24 lobes on each side, the margins revolute. Inflorescences hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), green or yellow, hairy. Perianth 20-25 mm long, glabrous, without awns; pistil 20-27 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), elliptic, 20-35 mm long. Flowers in January, February, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL), Warren (WAR) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
