Erect, spindly annual or perennial, herb or shrub, (0.2-)0.5-1.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Jan to Aug or Oct. Variety of soils over sandstone, basalt or limestone.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like) or herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 25-60 mm long, 5-10 mm wide, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 3.5-4 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent. Calyx 7-8.2 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 8-8.5 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 6-7.2 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 5.5-6 mm long, not auriculate, keel 7-8.2 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 8-9.5 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 11-15 mm long, 6-7 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August and October. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley and Ord-Victorian-Plain IBRA regions.
