Rhizomatous, tufted, clump forming perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.3-0.8(-1) m high, to 0.5 m wide. Fl. cream-white, Sep to Dec. Grey or black peaty sand, lateritic gravel. Dunes, roadsides, damp locations.
