Prostrate perennial, herb, ca 0.45 m high. Fl. purple, Jul or Oct. Red sandy soils with limestone.
Scientific Description
Prostrate,spreading or scrambling, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, opposite or alternate, not continuous with stem, 15-30 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, leaflets 7(-9), pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 2-3 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 1.6-2 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 6-7 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 7-11.3 mm long, multicoloured, purple, mostly yellow, green or purple, with some yellow, green or purple spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 10.5-10.6 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 5-7 mm long, not auriculate, keel 6-9 mm long, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.5-0.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen, 4-6 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, hairy or glandular; style 6.5-9.5 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, bearded (with a tuft of hairs at apex), terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section. Flowers in July and October. Occurs in the Eremaean Botanical Province, in the Central Ranges and Coolgardie IBRA regions.
