Lignotuberous shrub, 0.3-0.8 m high, leaves linear-lanceolate. Fl. pink/red, Mar to Apr or Jun to Nov. Sand, sandy clay. Often on dunes.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.20-2 m high. Leaves alternate, 10-15 mm long, 1.5-4 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, widest around the middle, entire, with glands at the leaf (or leaf lobe) apex. Inflorescences red; innermost bracts 4-6 mm long; peduncles 2-3 mm long. Perianth 17-21.5 mm long, hairy; ovary glabrous; pistil 23-28 mm long, pollen presenter erect, style glabrous. Flowers in March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
