Very prickly, dense, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.6-2 m high. Fl. pink/cream-yellow, Sep to Dec. Gravelly sandy or clayey soils, laterite.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, 40-65 mm long, glabrous; lamina terete, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib, with (8-)9-12(-18) points or lobes; distance from base of leaf to lowest lobe 10-25 mm. Inflorescences not viscid, cream, yellow or pink. Perianth 22-30 mm long, hairy, the limb apex hairy all over; pistil 23-30 mm long; pollen presenter not fusiform, hairy, 4-5.5 mm long, the brush 1.5-2 mm long. Cone with deciduous scales, 10-12 mm long. Flowers in September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
