Spreading to sprawling, mat-forming, spinose shrub, (0.05-)0.2-0.7 m high, 0.4-1.3 m wide. Fl. yellow, Aug to Oct. Clay or sandy clay, sandy or gravelly loam. Winter-wet flats, gravelly rises, granite rocks.
