(Mallee) or tree (occasionally), 2.5-12 m high, bark hard, rough, grey on lower half, smooth pink above. Fl. white, Dec or Jan to Feb. Yellow-red sand, red sandy or gravelly loam, grey clayey sand, granite. Plains, tops of hills near waterholes, open paddocks, roadsides.
