Scientific Description

Trees or Shrubs, 2-6 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 120-150 mm long, hairy, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 40-130 mm long, 5-15 mm wide, the margins flat. Inflorescences terminal, yellow, orange or red; pedicels 5-8 mm long. Perianth 10-15 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, hairy, glandular-hairy; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 2-3 mm long; pistil 18-22 mm long, yellow, pollen presenter lateral or oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 18-31 mm long. Flowers in May, June, July, August or September. Occurs in the Northern (N) Botanical Province(s), in the Victoria Bonaparte (VB) IBRA subregion(s).
