Rhizomatous, tufted perennial, herb, 0.2-0.5 m high, culms striate; male spikelets pendulous on slender branches; anthers not exserted. Fl. yellow-brown, Oct to Dec or Jan to May. Sand. Swamps and other moist or seasonally moist sites.
