Perennial, herb (or sub-shrub), to 1.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Feb to Jun. Clay loam, scree, laterite, dolerite, sandstone, basalt. Near creeks and rivers.

Scientific Description

Erect, herb. Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 25-60 mm long, 4-15 mm wide, flat with flat margins; margins entire. Corolla uniformly coloured, yellow. Stamens ten; filaments united in an open sheath. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 28-34 mm long, 16-20 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in February, March, April, May and June. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Central Kimberley and Dampierland IBRA regions.
