Tree or (mallet), to 16 m high, bark smooth, silvery grey with salmon below, never powdery, peeling in short strips. Fl. cream-yellow, Oct to Dec or Jan to Apr. Grey-brown alkaline sandy loam over sheet limestone. Open woodland.
