Scientific Description

Stems ribbed. Leaves flat, (10-)25-60 mm long, 3-8 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins toothed. Bracteoles present, 5-7 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 5-10 mm long, Indumentum present, Hair type with simple hairs. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 2-3.5 mm long, hairy, with sparse, simple hairs. Corolla purple or orange, 12-18 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, hairy on the outside, with sparse, glandular hairs, glabrous on the inside; central lobes 4-7.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 5-8 mm long, wing present on both sides and clearly unequal, 1.3-1.5 mm wide on the narrower side, 1.5-2 mm wide on the broader side. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, not gibbose; style 5-7 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in May and June. Occurs in the Northern Kimberly (NK) IBRA Region(s), of the Northern (N) Botanical Province. Conservation Code: Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
