Spindly shrub, 0.5-2.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Mar to Aug. Alluvial sand, clayey sand, brown loam, sandstone, granite. Creek beds, river banks, rock outcrops and crevices, hills, drainage flats.
Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, alternate, not continuous with stem, 40-90 mm long, 10(-52) mm wide, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 3-4 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 2-2.5 mm long, glabrous, not striate. Calyx 11-11.5 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 18-21 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 15-18.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 14-17 mm long, not auriculate, keel 14-18 mm long, beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.7-2 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments united in an open sheath, 11-14 mm long. Ovary; style 19-25 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 32-40 mm long, 9-12 mm wide, stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in March, April, May, June, July and August. Occurs in the Northern Botanical Province, in the Northern Kimberley, Victoria Bonaparte, Central Kimberley and Dampierland IBRA regions.
