Erect, slender, multistemmed shrub, to 0.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Sep to Nov. White, cream or brown sandy clay, white sand over sandstone, brown or grey sand over laterite, gravel. Hill summits and slopes, ridges.
Scientific Description
Prostrate,spreading or scrambling, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, whorled, not continuous with stem, 10-23 mm long, 4-8 mm wide, glabrous, flat with flat margins; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves, 3.2-4.5 mm long, without glands, ribless. Pedicel present, 5-9 mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles present and persistent, 4-5 mm long, glabrous, not striate. Calyx 9.5-14 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 10-20 mm long, uniformly coloured, yellow; claws present; standard 10-19.5 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 9.5-18.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 10-13.8 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 1-1.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 9.5-13 mm long. Ovary sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 11-12 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 12-14 mm long, 6-11 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in September, October and November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Geraldton Sandplains IBRA regions. Conservation Code Priority Three (P3).
