Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, hairy; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 5-7 mm long, hairy, with simple hairs, strongly recurved, appearing terete but with one or two grooves below; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet absent, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 10-15 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 1.5-1.7 mm long, hairy, not striate. Calyx 8.5-9 mm long, not accrescent, hairy, with simple hairs, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 11.5-12 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow, pink or green, with some yellow, pink or green spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 10-12 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 9.5-10 mm long, not auriculate, keel 10-11 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, hairy at least in part. Stamens ten; anthers 1.5-1.8 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 5.7-9 mm long. Ovary stipitate or sessile or subsessile, glabrous; style 8-10 mm long, glabrous, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate or sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, not beaked. Flowers in October. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Geraldton Sandplains, Avon Wheatbelt and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions. Conservation Code Priority Two (P2).
