Tufted rhizomatous, perennial, herb, to 1.7 m high. Fl. blue/purple, Sep to Dec. Yellow sand, grey sands or sandy clays, gravel, laterite, granite, quartzite. Outcrops, winter-wetlands, hills, plains, ridges.
