Erect, obconic shrub, to 3 m high, bark grey, smooth becoming yellow-brown on upper branches; phyllodes more or less sub-glaucous with a slight sheen; inflorescence of spikes. Fl. yellow, May or Aug. Quartzite gibbers over grey-red skeletal soil. Along shallow creeks and drainage lines, hills, road verges.
