Habit and structure. Plants light pink, to 3 cm tall, caespitose or forming spherical clumps on other algae, mostly regularly dichotomously branched, with 1–4 intergenicula between dichotomies. Intergenicula terete, 80–150 µm in diameter, 340–750 µm long, shorter and more divaricate near apices.

 

Distribution. Widespread in tropical and subtropical seas.
